CBS News Documentary features CurlyTop Baker
We were honored to be recently featured in a CBSN’s Documentary “Reverb: Losing Las Vegas”on the economic fallout due to Covid-19 on small businesses.
I was interviewed by Host Adam Yamaguchi who brought some tough questions that made this reality feel just a bit more real. Through each question asked, I felt as if I were representing all small businesses across the US. At times it was hard to hold back the tears. My hopes, dreams and goals for 2020 were all brought to a sudden halt when the pandemic hit. As one of many small business owners, I was faced with many questions and fears, yet kept holding on to my faith that there would be a light at the end of this dark tunnel.
After the first air of our story on CBSN.com, our email was flooded with much encouragement from across the country. Complete strangers connected with our story and sent letters, emails, voicemails and donations. We soon found out the CBS News affiliates were also airing segments of our story on their news hours nationwide and that clips were being shown on YouTube. An overwhelming outpour of love was felt by my team and I, and though we are not running at full capacity, we are grateful to have connected with so many new customers.
